Tempus is a technology company that has been using cancer data to assist in the personalizing of the cancer care and improved the efficiency it’s based in Chicago. On Tuesday, Eric said that they received $8 million in funding from investors. Eric Lefkofsky who is the co-founder of the company, since the company was founded in 2015 it has received $210 million. The number of employees that Tempus has employed is 400, but every year the employees that are added the rate is extreme, and that is about 30 per month, said Lefkofsky. That pace will continue, he added, as the company still uses the funding that they get to expand their reach.
Clinical data is what the company uses to discover some of the trends that are being used in the cancer treatment and collect molecular data patients that are receiving the treatment. He said that in some cases, the process of data correction could be a simple thing like digitizing some of the notes written by the doctor about the patient so that it easy to find them by searching and they are stored so that it’s easy to expand any necessary treatment options. Lefkofsky said that the company had worked hard in creating the relationships needed with organizations in all fields of the health system, like doctors and drug companies, who have been looking for ways that they can use the data to treat patients more efficiently.
Eric Lefkofsky has been able to go beyond what many entrepreneurs accomplish. He has been an active member of the philanthropic causes. Eric believes that the money that is spent in so many nations should be spent on more important things. He says that the healthcare industry spends a trillion every year that can be used to do something else. Eric and his partner Brad know that they have one thing in common and that is that they are solution oriented. They try their level best to come up with solutions not just for the sake of it. Coming up with solutions has made it easy for them to be able to manage the six companies. For the past 20 years that has been the way forward to solving any problem.
After seeing his loved one getting the cancer treatment, he noticed that the doctors didn’t even have the right facilities and technology to help with the cancer treatment that was the main reason why he started Tempus. After he searched for a firm that mainly used technology in the fight for cancer and he didn’t get any he knew that something had to be done. In 2016 Erick and his wife established the Lefkofsky Family Foundation which had one primary goal was that it would be able to enhance the lives of the community. He is an adjunct professor at the University of Chicago and the book of Accelerated Disruption he is the author. After attending the University of Michigan, he was rewarded with the Juris Doctor at University of Michigan law school.
